An Ormond Beach entrepreneur dazzles the high-powered investors on “Shark Tank” when the reality series returns to the ABC schedule at 9 p.m. Sunday.
“It was exhilarating. It was like nothing else I’ve experienced,” says Megan Reilly, 28. “To be on the set was so surreal. We made a conscious effort to enjoy the process.”
Reilly and sibling Sarah Nuse , 31, of Corpus Christi seek an investment in their Tippi Toes Dance Company to get children moving and help stay-at-home moms make money. They have sold seven franchises and want more.
ABC previews the episode by describing “the shark-like exploits of a sweet-faced sister duo with a children’s dance company.”
Reilly’s reaction? “I can’t help but laugh,” she says. “My sister and I are so passionate about what we do. The last thing we’re doing is exploiting anyone. The sharks were blown away by our business model.”
Incredulous, too, and competitive in a scene that makes for entertaining television. One shark complains the sisters are extortionists, but billionaire Mark Cuban, who joins the show, is impressed.
“Someone said we were sharks in tutus,” Reilly says. “I would never consider myself a shark. It’s a compliment that we’ve done well.”
The sisters hold their own with the panel of big-time investors. Afterward, Reilly confides, “The sharks — they’re tough, but they’re not that tough.”
